There are many benefits to Smart Liposuction over other forms and methods of body sculpting and liposuction in general. One of these benefits is that of the recovery process. Compared to other methods, Smart Liposuction offers many “perks” for the patient insofar as the recovery experience goes. Let’s take a look at this in closer detail.
By using lasers to target the fat for removal, smart liposuction is inherently a less invasive procedure for the patients body. Additionally, only a very small incision needs to be made in order to insert the cannula which carries the laser technology into the body. This incision is so small that no sutures or stitches are required. From the recovery perspective, this is significant because it removes the possibility of infections related specifically to the stitches and the body’s reaction to them.
The laser technology also carries with it the benefit of closing blood vessels during surgery. This means there’s less bleeding associated with smart lipo. Also, the enlargement of blood vessels is part of what’s happening when the body swells and bruises in standard liposuction procedures. So this means there’s also less swelling
and bruising going on from smart lipo due to the blood vessels being closed off by the lasers during the procedure.
So far we can see the contrast here with smart liposuction over other techniques. The recovery experience involves no stitches, less chance of infection at the incision area, smaller incisions, less bleeding, less bruising, and less swelling.
The day of surgery and up two weeks after surgery, the doctor will instruct his or her patient on the necessity of wearing a compression garment in the treatment area. This compression garment will protect the incision and the area in general, promoting a faster recovery.
Most patients are able to carefully go back to work within 1-2 days after surgery. However, in this time frame after surgery, it’s very important not to push the body too much, especially the first few days. Physical activity should be avoided. This includes taking a break from intense cardio exercise and weight lifting.
Within a week or two weeks, the results from the surgery are visible on most patients body. However, the results can take many many months to become “final”, so to speak. Doctors often advise not to fret until 6 months have passed before you can see the real results of the surgery.
